Site Updates

Last updated November 1, 2026

This page lists the changes made to Cursive Atlas, newest first, with the date each one went live. It only records changes that were really made. For how pages are written, checked and corrected, see the editorial policy, and for who runs the site, see the about page. If you spot a mistake, write to hello@cursiveatlas.com.

November 1, 2026

  • Ten name pages (Emma, Olivia, Sophia, Isabella, Ava, Mia, Liam, Noah, James and Lucas) were expanded to the depth of the newer name pages. Each gained a letter-by-letter guide to the joins in that name, notes on its tricky strokes, layout notes, three new images drawn from the site's own stroke data, a printable practice sheet (PDF) and extra questions. They grew from roughly 800 to 870 words to roughly 1,500 to 1,960 words. One outdated claim (a "longest name on this site" remark on the Isabella page) was removed.
  • Thirteen word pages (hello, hope, love, mom, dad, faith, dream, family, forever, blessed, beautiful, thank you and happy birthday) received the same kind of additions: how each letter joins the next, the tricky strokes of that word, layout notes, extra notes on the word and three more questions each. They grew from roughly 830 to 980 words to roughly 1,560 to 1,890 words.
  • A visible "Last updated" date was added under the title of 45 more pages that did not show one. For those pages the date is the day of their last real content change, not today.
  • This page was added, with a "Site updates" link in the footer of every page.

October 29, 2026

  • Seventeen new pages: cursive joins, cursive tattoo fonts, cursive numbers 1 to 100, cursive lined paper, days and months in cursive, cursive sentences, a guide comparing D'Nealian and Zaner-Bloser, and ten more names (Emily, Charlotte, Amelia, Grace, Hannah, Chloe, Ethan, Jacob, William and Benjamin), with 21 printable PDFs. Twenty existing pages received internal links to them.
  • All 26 letter pages gained three sections each (look-alike letters with an image, a table of symptoms and fixes, and the letter in real writing) and two more questions; their titles and descriptions were rewritten.
  • The alphabet, capital letters, chart, translator, signature, name generator, numbers and worksheet generator pages received new titles and descriptions and, on several of them, new sections.
  • One table cell on the alphabet page was corrected: it said that lowercase z drops below the baseline, but z sits on the baseline.
  • The Editorial policy page was made indexable by search engines, like the About page. It had been set to "noindex" by mistake.
  • Image entries were added to the sitemap.

October 28, 2026

  • New pages: Editorial policy, a 30-day cursive practice plan, a guide on how to read cursive and a guide on common cursive mistakes.
  • The About, Contact, Privacy policy, Terms of use and Accessibility pages were expanded. The About page explains how pages are written and checked, including an honest disclosure of AI use.
  • The 13 word pages and 10 name pages received sections on meaning and origin, common mistakes, practice and questions.
  • The header and footer navigation were redesigned, with a new "Popular guides" column in the footer, and the guides hub was rewritten.
  • Real images were added: 26 letter images and five page images. The 26 letter pages received letter-specific notes on stroke order, joins and common mistakes.
  • Six tool pages (alphabet, signature, translator, name generator, worksheet generator and numbers) and several guides were expanded, as were the Spanish hub, the alphabet worksheets page and the lowercase page.

October 25, 2026

  • New pages: a words hub, a names hub, ten word pages, ten name pages and the cursive font copy and paste tool.
  • A Spanish section was added under /es/ with six pages (hub, alphabet, capital letters, lowercase, numbers and a learning page), linked to their English counterparts with hreflang.
  • The 26 letter pages were given a section comparing the capital and the lowercase form of each letter.
  • Titles and descriptions were improved on the alphabet, capital letters, chart, numbers and tool pages, and the guides gained a byline and update dates. The About page gained a section on how pages are written and checked.
  • Favicons and a web manifest were added.

October 5, 2026

  • Cursive Atlas launched with the animated cursive alphabet, the letter pages, the tracing and generator tools, printable worksheets and the first handwriting guides.
