Fonts or copy-and-paste text?
The generator makes two different things, and it helps to pick the right one.
- Cursive fonts (PNG download). Real handwriting-style typefaces. They look like proper lettering and are ideal for invitations, labels, craft projects, tattoo mock-ups and designs. The download is an image, so it cannot be pasted as editable text.
- Copy-and-paste text. Special Unicode characters that resemble script lettering. They paste into social media bios, comments and chats. They are not a font: spacing is fixed, punctuation and numbers stay plain, some apps show boxes instead, and screen readers may read them letter by letter.

Getting a good result
- Short text looks best. Names, single words and short phrases keep the flow of a script font.
- Avoid all-capital text. Capital letters in script fonts are decorative and become hard to read in a row.
- Use a darker ink color for print and a lighter one on photos and dark backgrounds.

Cursive generator questions
Is the cursive generator free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, and the text you type is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
Can I use the downloaded images commercially?
The fonts are open-licensed (SIL Open Font License), which permits commercial use of artwork made with them. Check each font's license if you plan to redistribute the font files themselves.
Why does my copied text look different in some apps?
Copy-and-paste cursive uses Unicode mathematical symbols. Apps decide how to draw them, and a few older systems have no glyphs for them. If it matters, use the PNG download instead.
Does it write like real handwriting?
The fonts imitate handwriting but are not the same as the school cursive you write by hand. To see how a word is actually written, with its joins, use the cursive translator.
