How to copy and paste cursive text
- Type or paste your text in the box. Every style updates as you type.
- Pick a style and press Copy. On phones, the text is copied straight to the clipboard.
- Paste it where you need it: an Instagram or TikTok bio, a Discord name, a WhatsApp message, a caption or a document.
- Need an image instead? Press PNG to download that style as a transparent picture for a story, a thumbnail or a card.
Letters, spaces and punctuation are kept in order. Numbers, accented letters and emoji are left as they are, because Unicode has no cursive version of them.
Is this a real cursive font?
Not exactly. A font changes how the same letters look; it only travels with a document or a website. This tool swaps each letter for a different Unicode character from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, such as 𝒜 (mathematical script capital A). Because they are characters rather than a font, they keep their look when you paste them almost anywhere.
That has three consequences worth knowing:
- They work in most modern apps and browsers, but very old devices may show empty boxes instead of letters.
- Screen readers may read them letter by letter as mathematical symbols, or skip them. Keep important information, such as your real name or a link, in normal text.
- Search engines and many sign-up forms treat them as different characters, so do not use them in a password, an email address or text you want people to find by searching.
For a real cursive font you can download as an image, use the cursive generator or compare styles on the cursive fonts page. To see how your words are actually joined by hand, try the cursive translator.
Cursive copy and paste: questions
How do I get cursive text for Instagram?
Type your text above, press Copy next to a style such as Script or Bold script, then paste it into your Instagram bio or caption. Instagram, TikTok, X and Discord all display these characters on current phones and computers.
Why do some letters look different from the rest?
A few cursive letters, such as ℋ, ℯ and ℴ, were added to Unicode before the rest of the alphabet, in the Letterlike Symbols block. They come from a slightly different design, so they can look a little different from the neighbouring letters.
Why do I see boxes instead of cursive letters?
The device or app does not have a font that contains these characters. Updating the operating system usually fixes it. If your readers may use older devices, choose a simpler style such as italic.
Can I download cursive text as an image?
Yes. Press PNG next to any style to download it as a transparent PNG. For handwritten-looking fonts such as Great Vibes or Dancing Script, use the cursive generator.
Is the cursive text generator free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and the text you type stays in your browser.
