How to write hello in cursive by hand
- 1Write the capital H in three strokes: the left stem, then the right stem, then lift and draw the crossbar from left to right.
- 2Carry the crossbar straight on into the e, so the capital stays connected to the rest of the word.
- 3Make both l loops reach the top line. Keep them the same height and the same slant, and do not let the loops close up.
- 4End with the o: close the oval at the top and finish with a short, flat stroke at the midline. That high exit is what makes a cursive o look right.

Questions about hello in cursive
How do you write a capital H in cursive?
Draw the left stem, then the right stem, and finish with a crossbar that loops through the middle. In joined cursive the end of the crossbar leads into the next letter, as it does into the e in hello.
Why does hello end with a stroke at the top?
The cursive o finishes at the midline instead of the baseline. If you write another word after hello, that high exit stroke joins straight into the next letter.
Which cursive font is best for hello?
Dancing Script looks friendly and casual; Great Vibes and Allura are better for invitations and signs. Compare all six in the fonts section above.
Is there a printable Hello cursive worksheet?
